How IBA's Scan Data v2.5 Maps Products to Metcash's Standard Commodities (MSC)
In order to maintain compliance with IBA, you'll need to keep your product's MSC mapping up-to-date. Shopfront will do its best to automatically keep these up-to-date for you, but anything which is a direct line may need manual mapping.
For the most accurate automatic matching, integration with the Metcash Host File is required, for more information, check out our Integrating with Metcash's Host File article.
If you don't want to use Metcash's Host File, we would highly suggest ensuring that every product is in a category and every category has a Master Database Reference.
MSC Mapping is done in the following order:
- Host File integration individual product mapping,
- Host File integration category mapping,
- Master Database individual product mapping,
- Master Database category mapping
If none of the above options are available for a product, it will instead use a default option of Non-Product.
