Vii is an end-to-end physical and digital gift card provider. If you're part of an IBA banner and on the Liquor Banner Group Integrations subscription you can sell and redeem gift cards directly within Shopfront by activating the Vii integration.

Setting up the Vii Integration

Before you can sell and redeem a Vii gift card, you must first setup the integration. You'll need a AIIC (Acquiring Institution Identification Code), CATI (Card Acceptor Terminal Identification) and potentially a CAIC (Card Acceptor Identification Code) before you get started. If you don't have these, you'll need to either contact Metcash directly or get in touch with us and we'll reach out to Metcash on your behalf.

Once you have them, you'll want to head to the Integrations page (Menu > Setup > Integrations) then press the Integrate button next to Vii.

Follow the prompts and approve the integration, then after the next sync there will be a Settings button that you'll need to press. From there you'll need to select your Banner Group, and then enter your AIIC, CATI and CAIC.

The integration also supports specifying card ranges to ensure that any sold Vii Gift Cards have a card number within the card ranges. Metcash provides a default card range but you are also free to add more by clicking the Add Range button.

After entering the credentials, press the Save button.

Setting up the integration will automatically create the Vii Gift Card products and the Vii Gift Card payment method, however, you will need to enable the Vii Gift Card in any register you want to redeem gift cards on.

The following Vii Gift Card products are created:

  • Vii Gift Card
  • $50 Vii Gift Card
  • $100 Vii Gift Card
  • Shop Local Gift Card
  • $50 Shop Local Gift Card
  • $100 Shop Local Gift Card

The fixed-amount gift cards are created for your convenience, however you can use the regular Vii Gift Card to specify a custom amount.

Selling a Vii Gift Card

Once set up, you can sell a Vii Gift Card by following these steps:

  1. Add the Vii Gift Card product to the sale,
    • If you're not adding a fixed-amount gift card, you'll need to specify an amount to load,
  2. Enter or scan the gift card number,
  3. Press the Check button,
    • If the check is successful, the Vii Gift Card will be added to the sale.
    • If the check in unsuccessful, you'll see an error toast explaining why
  4. Finalise the sale

Checking a Vii Gift Card's Balance

First, you'll need to add the sale key to the sell screen:

  1. Open the Menu,
  2. Select Settings,
  3. Select Sale Keys,
  4. Select Edit next to the page of keys you wish to add the button to,
  5. Select Add Sale Key,
  6. Under the Action dropdown, select Check a Vii Gift Card's Balance,
  7. Fill in the rest of the required details and save your changes

Now that you've added the sale key, all you need to do is:

  1. From the sell screen, select the sale key you just added,
  2. Enter or scan the gift card number,
  3. Press the Check Balance button
    • If the gift card has been loaded, you'll be able to see its current balance and expiry date
    • If the gift card has not been loaded, you'll see an error toast displaying its current status

Redeeming a Vii Gift Card

Redeeming a gift card is simple:

  1. Add the products to the sale,
  2. Press the Finalise sale button,
  3. Select the Vii Gift Card payment option,
  4. Enter or scan the gift card number,
  5. Enter the gift card pin,
  6. Specify the amount to pay,
  7. Complete the payment

You can use Vii Gift Cards as a multi-payment if required (including multiple Vii Gift Cards in one sale).

If you wish to reverse the gift card being used during the sale, simply press the trash button next to the completed payment in the finalise sale screen - this will direct you to load the reversed amount onto a new Vii Gift Card. The integration does not support reversing a payment back onto the original gift card.

Similarly, if you wish to reverse a Vii Gift Card payment after the sale is completed, you'll need to refund the amount onto another payment method.
