Managing Products

Price Sets

Price Sets enable you to set alternative prices for products. This makes it easy to manage multiple areas where you sell products at different prices.

For example, you may have multiple Outlets using different sell prices or you could have a modified set of prices for takeaway compared to dining in.

Price Sets are powerful because every product has a Default Price Set which is just a normal price, you then specify the alterations to the prices by using Price Sets. You can also specify the price set in use for each Register.

How to Create a Price Set

  1. Open the Menu
  2. Select Setup
  3. Select Price Sets
  4. Select +New
  5. Name your Price Set
  6. Select Create

How to Use a Price Set by Default

Each register can have a default price set assigned to it. To apply a default price set to a register follow the steps below.

  1. Open the Menu
  2. Select Setup
  3. Select General
  4. Search Default price set by typing into the search box and select a register
  5. For each register you wish to modify, change the Default Price Set dropdown to whichever Price Set you wish to use

  6. Select Save

Changing Price Sets in the Register

You're able to dynamically change Price Sets from within the register, which is useful for serving different clientele from the same register (such as takeaway customers and dining-in customers).

Before you can change Price Sets in the register, you'll need to create a Price Set Sales Key.

Once you have a Sales Key created, all you need to do is select it in the register and the entire sale will change to using that Price Set.

Note: It is not possible to mix Price Sets within a single sale.

Removing a Price Set

To prevent accidental deletion of all prices within a Price Set, we've disabled you from removing a Price Set unless it no longer has any prices. To view the current products that use the Price Set:

  1. Open the Menu
  2. Select Setup
  3. Select Price Sets
  4. Select the Price Set you wish to delete

You'll now be presented with a list of Products that contain the Price Set, you can select each of these Products to edit them and remove the Price Set.

Once the Products have been removed from the Price Set, you can delete the Price Set by selecting Delete.

Note: If you have a large amount of products within your Price Set and you are certain you wish to remove all of them, contact our support team with the Price Set you wish to remove, and we shall bulk delete the prices out of the Products.

Common Questions With Price Sets

Do I need to create prices for all my products if I want to use a new price set

No, price sets will apply the default price when no price exists at all for that price set for that product.

I've set a six-pack price, but my single price is now wrong

Price sets replace the entire default price when there is any price with a price set specified, so you'll also need to define the other prices, even if they're the same as the default price.

For example, if you have a product with the default prices set to 1 @ $3, 6 @ $14 and 24 @ $40 and you want your price set to have the six-pack price set to $13 and all the other prices remain the same, you'll need to set the new price set to have the prices 1 @ $3, 6 @ $13 and 24 @ $40.

Can my price set be higher than the default price

Yes
