Products are the objects sold during a sale to your customers. In Shopfront we have several different types of products that you can create, for this tutorial, we will be showing you how to create a General Product however we also have guides available for creating the following product types:
We highly suggest you become familiar with creating a General Product before creating another type of product.

- Select Stock Management
- Select Products
- Click + Add Product
You will now be presented with the Creation Wizard which will take you through the product creation process step by step. You can also choose to skip the wizard to create the product from the Modification Page.
Product Creation Wizard
The Product Creation Wizard allows you to easily create Normal Products, to create any other type of product please select Skip. Within the Wizard, you can use the 'Enter' key, or the NEXT / PREVIOUS buttons on the screen to navigate between pages.
- The first step in the Wizard is adding the barcode for your product, scan or type it into the text field.
- If you have access to our Master Database you will be presented with an option to choose a product from our Master Database.
- Creating a product using our Master Database allows for quick and easy product creation. If the product is found it will be created for you with all the details out of our database including:
- Case Quantity

- If the product isn't found you'll have to add these details manually with the wizard or on the modification page

|Tax Rate||The tax rate for the product.|

|Reorder Level||When the current inventory reaches this level the system will reorder the amount specified in Reorder Amount when creating a dynamic order to a supplier.|
|Reorder Amount||The amount to reorder when the Reorder Level is reached.|
|Reorder Limit||If an order generation reorder amount is greater than the Reorder Limit, the reorder amount will be replaced with the Reorder Limit amount.|
|Reorder Rounding||If the reoder can be set to round to case. You have the option of No Rounding (default), Round Up to Case, Round Down to Case or Round Naturally.|
|Track Inventory||Tracking inventory is set on by default. Toggling track inventory off will stop inventory tracking for the product.|
In Shopfront we support adding multiple barcodes to products in multiple quantities. This prevents us from requiring child and parent products like found in other POS systems.
|Quantity||The quantity of the product this barcode is work.|
|Barcode||The actual barcode.|
We support having multiple suppliers for each product. When you have multiple suppliers one of the suppliers becomes the Core Supplier. The Core Supplier is the main supplier that you order the product.
|Supplier||The supplier you can receive this product from.|
|Supplier Code||The code used by the supplier to describe this product.|
Images are currently not widely used throughout Shopfront, however, that is changing in our upcoming sell screen redesign. Shortly you'll be able to see your product's images on your customer facing displays, receipts, and more. These are also available through the API if your store is connected to an eCommerce site.
Loyalty at this level overrides all other loyalty. This can be disabled for each outlet or used to override the loyalty amounts.
|Quantity||The quantity of the product a customer needs to by to get this loyalty rate.|
|Earn Rate||The amount of points earned for every dollar spent, if this is left blank it reverts to the default loyalty rate.|
|Redeem Rate||The amount of points required to redeem each dollar, if this is left blank it reverts to the default loyalty rate.|
