Introduction to Register Closures

A Register Closure is the collection of sales information that relates to a particular shift on a specific register. Most stores will close each register at the end of the day and reopen it in the morning, but you can close and reopen the register as many times as you'd like throughout the day (for example, after a user has completed their shift).
Whilst not required, it's highly recommended to keep track of physical money over time, and some integrations may use the closing of the register to signify the end of the day (such as accounting systems).

Once a register has been closed, you'll automatically be taken to the register closure view page which will provide more details about what occurred during the period the register was open and other useful statistics.
If you need to view this page again in the future, you can access it by opening the Menu, expanding Reports and selecting Register Closures.
You can then use the filters at the top of the page to narrow down the closure you're looking for.
After you've found the closure you're searching for you can then press the view button next to the line to visit the page.
Commonly Asked Questions
I don't want my staff to see all register closures, can I allow them to view just the register they've closed?
We have a permission named See Only Recent Register Closures, which allows users who lack permission to view Register Closures to access the page immediately after closing the register. They'll also be able to view the page for up to 12 hours through the same instructions under Viewing Previous Register Closures.
To enable this, in the Roles & Permissions page, you'll want to disable the View Register Closures toggle and enable the See Only Recent Register Closures toggle.
