How to Configure Windows for Multiple Monitor Displays
If you are setting up multiple monitors for the first time, the steps provided below will show how to properly configure your monitors in Windows 10 and 11.
- Select the Windows Start Menu
- Type and Select Display Settings
- If you have multiple displays, a picture of each icon will be indicated at the top of the page, ensure that both monitors are set to Extend desktop to this display
- Select Identify, and take note of the number that displays on your main display (not the customer display screen) this will show you which number the display has been allocated
- Select the display that matches the indicated number
- Select Multiple displays and select Make this my main display
Once the displays have been configured, you may want to edit your Windows taskbar, so that the customer display application doesn't appear on your main monitor screen. To do this follow the steps below;
- Select the Windows Start Menu
- Type and Select Taskbar Settings
- Select Taskbar behaviours
- For the setting When using multiple displays, show my taskbar apps on select the setting Taskbar where window is open
