Shopfront offers the ability to park or hold an unlimited amount of sales and retrieve them at any point in time from any register.
Parked sales will retain all details about the sale when they were parked, this includes locking the prices for products which may result in prices being cheaper or more expensive than the current shelf price.
Note; Sales can be parked in Offline Mode. However they will only be available on the register they were parked on until they have been uploaded in Online Mode.
Configuring Parked Sales
Shopfront provides several options for how to deal with parked sales.
Requiring a Note When a Sale is Parked
- Open the Menu
- Select Setup
- Select General
- Search Require Note on Held Sale by typing into the text box
- Toggle on to enable this setting
- Press Save
Sharing Parked Sales Between Outlets
Shopfront offers the option to share parked sales between outlets, if multiple outlets exist for a vendor. If this option is disabled a parked sale will only appear for the outlet it has been parked in.
- Open the Menu
- Select Setup
- Select General
- Search Share Parked Sales Between Outlets
- Toggle on to enable this setting
- Press Save
Parking Sales
Much like finalising a sale for an account customer or with a payment, once items have been added to the sales screen a sale can be parked.
- Click the Parked Sales button below the sales keys
- Select Park Sale at the top of the screen
- Specify a note if required
A receipt of the held sale can be printed or emailed to customers as for finalised sales.
Retrieving Parked Sales
To retrieve a parked sale to finish processing or to make major updates to, follow these instructions:
- Click Parked Sales at the bottom of the sell screen
- Select the sale you wish to retrieve
- Click the Load Sale button
The sale will now be loaded as the current sale. The sale can now be modified or finalised. Putting this sale back on hold works exactly like putting a new sale on hold:
- Click Parked Sales at the bottom of the sell screen
- Click Park Sale
This will provide a receipt will all items in the parked sale on it.
Adding Products to a Parked Sale
Items can be added to a parked sale in two ways. Either by adding products to the sell screen and then retrieving the parked sale or (as above) by retrieving a parked sale to modify it.
- Add the Products to the Sell Screen
- Click Parked Sales at the bottom of the sell screen
- Select the parked sale you wish to add the products to
- Click the Merge Sale button
OR
- Click Parked Sales at the bottom of the sell screen
- Select the parked sale you wish to add the products to
- Click Load Sale
- Add the Products to the Sell Screen
- Park the sale as detailed in the Parking Sale section above
This will provide a receipt will all items in the parked sale on it.
Cancelling Parked Sales
If a parked sale is outdated or no longer required for any other reason, it can be cancelled.
- Click Parked Sales at the bottom of the sell screen
- Select the sale you wish to remove
- Click the Remove Parked Sale button
- Confirm the deletion of the sale
Note; Cancelling a parked sale removes it from the Sales History as well. It can no longer be searched for.
